With our firm belief that good design and craft should be accessible and affordable we decided to develop direct relationships with great small factories and great, but not household name, designers to begin to create our first ranges.
Our casual, Australian lifestyle was the muse. Our design brief was to focus on what a real Australian home represents and to make furniture that worked in harmony with this. Designs and materials needed to be more earthy, even more emphatic, not pretentious but real.
Our first range, Hawthorn, drew inspiration from all homes that had a genoa lounge. Plank, the second design, is tactile and organic with irregular wire brushed surfaces that evolved from accentuating the beauty of the natural patterns in the wood, formed by the earth and soil where the wood grows. Less man-made and richer than any generic lacquered finish. Our naturals seating range was produced as a response to our tropical climate and beachy lifestyle.
And so it went, and so it continues to go with all our designs past, present and in the future.
Each maker of our ranges is not a large factory. They are craftsman with skills that are traditional in methods, skills that have been passed on within families from one generation to another. They put personal pride and energy into each product or piece they produce.
And by getting to the source of the materials and the skills we create a direct link between you, the customer, and the production of goods that delivers outstanding value.
The first step to getting a room right is space planning. Making sure all of your pieces fit and function in line with the way you intend to use the room.
We can sketch up custom floor plans to visualise the layout of a room, we can visit your home to form a picture of your requirements and in some cases even bring pieces to your home to ensure they work in your environment.
